South Bay Fire Department has a limited number of openings for new volunteers to respond to two basic community needs; the first is fire prevention and the second, to respond to fire and medical emergencies.
Rewards from the fire and rescue service are beyond description. There is a sense of accomplishment after controlling a building fire, an elation when a child is born, compassion for accident victims, and fulfillment in teaching fire safety. This list goes on and on.
This business is not for everyone. You need more than just a desire to help people. You need courage, dedication, assertiveness, a willingness to learn new skills and face new challenges. The fire and rescue service is not for the meek, the timid, or for those who lose control during a crisis.
